For The Love Of Art. LA Art Show Afterparty
It’s no secret Art plays an integral role in the Culver Hotel experience, which is why our owner and creative director, Maya Mallick, was inspired to incorporate an art space within the hotel to showcase both local and international artists.
Every year, we celebrate the LA Art Show by taking over the entire second floor of the hotel to host an artistic and fun afterparty for collectors, gallerists and art aficionados alike. 2020 marked the show’s 25 year anniversary as well as The Culver Hotel’s 5th year of partnership. Held at the LA Convention Center for several days, the annual fair welcomes 120 galleries from more than 20 countries to exhibit work in a variety of mediums, from painting and sculpture to costume and performance.
On February 6th, The Culver Hotel hosted 150 VIP guests for its 5th annual Cocktails, Art and Bites. LA Art Show exhibiting galleries including Fabrik Projects, Bruce Lurie Gallery, and Reisig and Taylor showcased a number of pieces along with independent artists such as Betsy Enzenberger and Lisa Swerling who were stand out crowd pleasers. Happy guests interacted with art installations curated by the hotel specifically for the evening, including drawing masterclass with a live model guided by the Kline Academy of Fine Art. Along with a bowtie clad DJ spinning tunes and cocktail crafting in The Vault, seeing the creative process in action added a wonderful texture to the night.
“Every year, we look forward to hosting the LA Art Show afterparty,” says Maya. “As a boutique property we are constantly thinking of ways to create engaging experiences. This annual event allows us not only to work with artists we resonate with but also have fun with our own creativity.”
The Culver Hotel art gallery is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel and is open to the public daily. If you are an artist or gallery and would like to exhibit with us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org . For latest information on art events sign up to our mailing list.
